    Someone forgot to tell the chives in the Little Acre Garden on our patio that we’re having a mixed up spring. That’s right, these poor little green things are trying hard despite another 4″ of snow last night. As if today’s weather wasn’t tough enough, then came the news that the St. Paul Farmers’ Market is delaying their open this weekend. The first time in the market’s history the summer market open wont happen on time.     The Last of June and Strawberry Mint Popsicles

    Can you believe June is over? Really? I don’t like to complain about summer being 1/3 or so in the books, so instead I thought I’d share a few highlights from the month followed by another strawberry recipe.     The Little Acre Garden Begins

    The first 80° day in the last 7 months calls for a trip to Gerten’s.  I could wander aimlessly for days through that place.  My sister can’t resist the shoe section and I can’t resist the greenhouse.  While ogling the kitchen compost pails, I noticed another urban gardening treasure called The Little Acre Raised Garden Bag.  Made by Easy Growin’, LLC in Wyzata, MN (roughly 30 miles East of St. Paul), this Minnesota product is a 3′ x 4′ x 12″ polypropylene square that you simply unfold, fill, and plant.  It retails for $49 and needs roughly 12 cubic yards of soil.
